The 71st Annual SCA Fair was held at Munsey Park on Saturday, May 4th. This day is always a special one for the Manhasset community and families from all over came to the Munsey Park field to enjoy the festivities.
As in years past, the fair included many thrilling rides for daring kids. In addition, the younger attendees enjoyed the Ferris wheel, carousel and other smaller rides. Many tried their luck at the carnival games, including the pie throw, high striker and dunk tank. The SCA is grateful to all of the local families and businesses that sponsored rides and games, including Gold Sponsors the Colombos-Dooley Team at Compass and Americana Manhasset.
The fair featured many kinds of food, such as sausage, mochi donuts, dumplings, hot dogs and pizza. The bakery tent included treats baked by Manhasset families. There were many Entertainment acts by talented Manhasset Schools student musicians. Musical groups from the Elementary through High School entertained the crowds, as well as performances by Moves & Motions and the Actors Garage.
The Fair is the SCA’s largest fundraiser. All money that was raised will support a variety of programs for Manhasset students. Examples of some of the programs that are funded by the SCA include Extended Extras, Saturday Series and Enrichment events for each elementary grade level. The SCA provides student assistance to make sure that every student in the district has the opportunity to participate in the many events the school offers. Scholarships toward summer studies programs for Juniors are awarded, as well as Educational Grants for students heading off to college.
The SCA extends a huge thank you to all of the volunteers who made this day possible, and to all of the families who supported the SCA through attending the fair. We look forward to seeing everyone next year at the fair. Save the date for Saturday, May 3, 2025!
