In what has become a Memorial Day tradition, members of the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce will be giving away hand-held American flags to parade-goers who attend Port’s Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27.
Chamber of Commerce President Debbie Greco Cohen said, “This is the forty-third year that Chamber volunteers precede the parade and hand out thousands of free flags. Everyone in the Chamber is very proud to be a part of this effort to honor our veterans.”
The volunteers will start handing out flags along the parade route beginning at 9:30 a.m. The parade sets off at 10 a.m.
Come to Main Street on May 27 to show your support and gratitude for our wonderful veterans. You will be rewarded by the heartwarming sight of friends and neighbors, young and old, waving their flags as the proud veterans in the parade pass by.
