John Lewis Childs School Welcomes New Administrators

Floral Park-Bellerose’s John Lewis Childs School has appointed a new principal and assistant principal, effective this July.

The school’s current assistant principal, Kristina Lynch, has been promoted to principal, and the district welcomes Megan Dixon into the role of assistant principal.

Lynch has worked in the Floral Park-Bellerose Union Free School District since 2001 when she started as a pre-K teacher. Since then, she has taught sixth-grade math and science, as well as her administrative roles. Outside of the school district, Lynch has taught third and fourth grade and worked as a reading specialist.

Lynch earned her B.S. in Education with a Math Concentration and M.S. in Education as a Reading Specialist from St. John’s University and a Professional Diploma in School Leadership from LIU Post.

Dixon has worked in the field of education for over 12 years, and recently she served as the assistant principal at Daniel Street Elementary School in the Lindenhurst Union Free School District, as well as the assistant principal at P.S. 24Q, the Andrew Jackson School, in Flushing.

Prior to her administrative work, Dixon was a special education and general education teacher, resource room provider, grade level leader and instructional leadership team leader.
Dixon earned a B.S. in Childhood Education and an M.S. in Special Education from LIU Post, and a Certificate of Educational Leadership and Administration from the College of Saint Rose – CITE Program.
