Jewish Beach Concert to Welcome Shabbat

All are welcome to join Congregation Beth Tikvah for a musical Shabbat experience on July 26 and again on August 23 from 6:00-6:45 PM at Jones Beach Field 6. These free services will follow traditional Jewish Shabbat rituals and are open to anyone who calls Long Island their home. Park on the west side of the comfort station and meet members of Congregation Beth Tikvah on the boardwalk. Bring your own chair. There is no parking fee after 4:00 PM. Matinee Classic Movie

2:00 PM. Here Comes Cookie with commentary given by “The Movie Man” John Carpenter 1935 Classic-Starring: George Burns and Gracie Allen Alarmed that his younger daughter is about to marry a gold digger, a millionaire turns over the fortune to her ditsy older sister for safekeeping. Preceded by the Three Stooges short; The Sitter Downers. Total time-1 hr. 21 minutes. Comedy/Musical. No tickets required. In-person program. No Fee. This program is hosted by the Levittown Public Library, 1 Bluegrass Ln.

Bus Trip to Wind Creek Casino, Bethlehem, PA

Hosted by St. Ignatius Loyola Church, Hicksville, NY. Cost: $55 per person, which includes the driver’s tip. Give back: $35 slot play. Time: Please arrive at 8:30 am and return approx. 8:30 pm. Parking: # 999 So. Oyster Bay Road (dead end). Reservations: call Barbara at (516) 935-5576 or Karen at (516) 937- 5527. Please make checks payable to “St. Ignatius Church”. The first to pay is the first on the bus, etc.

Caring For Caregivers

2:00 PM. Learn about the importance of building an Alzheimer’s support network. Get resources for coping and caring for your own physical, mental, and spiritual health from a member of the Parker Jewish Institute’s Willing Hearts, Helpful Hands. Registration is required at www.levittownpl.org under Upcoming Events. In-person program. No Fee. This program is hosted by the Levittown Public Library, 1 Bluegrass Ln.

FREE Veterans Pancake Breakfast

New York State Senator Steve Rhoads aims to honor local veterans by hosting a FREE Veterans Pancake Breakfast and Resource Fair from 10:00am to 12:00pm. This event will allow veterans the opportunity to connect with one another and agencies dedicated to helping veterans. Veterans must reside in Senate District 5 or be part of a veteran’s organization in Senate District 5. Veterans are welcome to bring one guest. Please call Senator Rhoads’ District Office at 516-882-0630 by Friday, July 26th to RSVP for this event.

National Night Out at Mid Island Y JCC

Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) is once again joining forces with the Mid Island Y JCC, the Nassau County Police Department’s Second Precinct and an array of community stakeholders to celebrate National Night Out at the Mid Island Y JCC from 6 to 8 p.m. Family-friendly activities from National Night Out include giveaways from local businesses and community groups, refreshments, raffle prizes donated by local businesses, demonstrations, ice cream, popcorn and cotton candy, a bouncy castle, and much more.
