Short Films for Thought

Drone Missions: Star Wars Style!
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (Shelter Rock Public Library, 165 Searingtown Road, Albertson) Channel the Force and ignite your imagination with drone missions inspired by the beloved Star Wars universe! Help deliver essential supplies to Resistance bases using miniature cargo drones, practicing hand-eye coordination and basic flight controls. Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group
1:30 p.m. start (Shelter Rock Public Library, 165 Searingtown Road, Albertson) The Alzheimer’s Association Long Island Chapter offers a monthly support group designed to provide emotional, educational, and social support for caregivers. Participants will also be helped to develop methods and skills to solve problems to maintain their own personal, physical and emotional health as well as optimally caring for the person with dementia. Cardio, Core & More
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. (The Bryant Library, 2 Paper Mill Road, Roslyn) This class gets your heart rate up with cardio fitness — but those who choose not to do hugh impact may turn it down a notch with the same movement, but moving in a much slower, steady pace. We’ll do interval training cardio, followed by stretching, with a focus on balance and posture, and then move to back to cardio. Join this interval training workout!
Harry Potter Day
5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (The Bryant Library, 2 Paper Mill Road, Roslyn) Join us as we celebrate Harry Potter with fun trivia and a craft! Come in costume for a chance to win a prize. Living with Coyotes in Roslyn
6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (The Bryant Library, 2 Paper Mill Road, Roslyn) Coyotes have long been anticipated to arrive on Long Island. They have been here for almost a decade. They are being closely monitored, and there is a very proactive effort to educate the public on how to coexist with them. Join the Wild Dog Foundation and members of the Long Island Coyote Study Group from Hofstra, Seatuck Environmental Center, Turtleback Farm, and the Long Island Science Museum, and learn how to coexist with the local coyotes, what the research so far is saying, and the latest updates on the animals locally. Q&A session to follow.
