Becoming a new parent is magical, life-changing — and often exhausting. To support families during this early stage, The Bryant Library is hosting “Sleep for Parents: Newborns,” a calming, judgment-free workshop led by certified sleep consultant Michelle Connor.
Connor offers realistic, evidence-based tools in this one-hour session to help parents navigate their baby’s earliest weeks of sleep. Participants will learn:
- Foundations of healthy newborn sleep: what’s typical, what’s not, and how to build strong habits from the start.
- How to set up an ideal sleep environment: from sound machines and swaddles to lighting and safe-sleep essentials.
- The power of simple routines: how gentle structure can bring calm, consistency, and smoother days (and nights).
- How to understand wake windows: spotting tired cues early to help prevent overtiredness and fussiness.
This is not a “cry-it-out” class. Attendees can expect a warm, supportive environment where questions are encouraged and new parents can gain confidence and clarity about their baby’s needs. Guests will leave feeling reassured and equipped with practical strategies to bring more peace, and more rest, into their homes.
The program is for adults only.
