All County Business Solutions “Braves” Vs.Bagels and A Whole Lot More Garden City “Dodgers”
In the final game of the fall season, 3 veterans on the Dodgers ball club (Cenzo Montoni, Matt Merolla and Joey Muratore) led the way. Cenzo showed off his level stroke, smacking a couple of fastballs right back up the middle for 2 base hits and 2 big RBIs. Matt displayed his ability to go deep, sending 2 shots into the left-center gap and adding 2 RBIs of his own. Joey also added an RBI and contributed by putting the ball in play and legging out a few singles with his excellent hustle. Not to be outdone, the Dodger rookies didn’t miss a beat and complemented the vets with outstanding play of their own. Danny McClellan, Steven DeRocchis, and Brian Kornreich each added RBIs and played stellar defense. Justin Yang continued to show impressive power to all fields and his defensive play led to 3 big outs. Michael Campagnuolo did an outstanding job getting on base and hustling to score 2 runs. As usual, the cousin tandem of Justin and Nick Marsala did not disappoint. Justin added a spark from the leadoff spot by getting his bat on the ball and hustling to get on base. Nick was his usual steady self, knocking in a couple of runs and making perfect throws from the pitcher’s mound over to first for outs.

State Bank Of Long Island “Cardinals” Vs. Hillside Beverage “Diamondbacks”
In another true gem of a Little League game, outstanding defense was the name of the game as the mighty Cardinals squared off against an equally defensive-minded Diamondbacks team today. Setting the tone for the Cardinals in the top of the 1st inning was Sean Fishbein who made a Robinson Cano-like dive at 2nd base to stop a hard hit ball and just nail the runner at 1st base. Continuing to hone his craft at 2nd base was Scott Schanter who not only made a great play of a sharply hit ball to nail the runner at 1st base but also contributed offensively with 2 sharply hit singles. Andrew Colgan continued to swing a hot bat with 2 singles and once again displayed great fielding skills and a tremendously strong arm in both the infield and outfield. Slugger Anthony DePompeis hit 2 singles and made several great scoops at 1st base to secure outs while John Napolitano had a single and played 3rd base to perfection with several hot grabs of hard hit balls. Jake Glueck made an impressive play of a ground ball hit sharply back to the mound and threw a runner out at 3rd while Kenny Gensch made a solid play in the infield with an unassisted force out at 3rd base and as catcher nailed a runner on a force out at home. Also contributing defensively was Sean O’Connor who played spectacular defense in the infield with several impressive assists of his own. Michael Mellone and Grant Joseph each hit a single and flashed the leather in the field. Go Cardinals!
