Senior Seasonal Flu Vaccination Program
Held by Nassau University Medical Center, 2201 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Dec. 15 in the NUMC auditorium. The NuHealth System seasonal influenza vaccination program is provided at no out-of-pocket expense for seniors 60 and older, who are urged to bring their Medicare card if they have one. Note that this program is for seasonal influenza only. H1N1 influenza (formerly known as Swine Flu) vaccine will not be offered at this program. At Hicks Nurseries
Located at 100 Jericho Tpke., Westbury. The nursery is handicapped accessible throughout. The following is offered:
•Real live reindeer will be at Hicks from Nov. 27 through Dec. 24. Visit during store hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and until 8 p.m. on Sundays. There’s always a lot going on for children during the holiday season. Admission is free. Christmas Holiday Story open until Dec. 24 during store hours. Cookies Santa, displays with child-size moving figures, shows how Santa’s friends all make him his favorite treat. Free. There will be a food drive for charity so bring packaged and canned goods to donate. Mail letters to Santa in the North Pole Mailbox…and he will answer. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope. Visits with Santa Nov. 27 through Dec. 23 everyday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. Free.
•Dec. 6: Holiday Dining Ideas. Drop by from 1 to 4 p.m. and pick up creative holiday dining ideas as Renee Levine of Robert Rothschild Farm offers tastes of their products. She will informally offer holiday entertaining ideas with flavors that can be used to create simple and sophisticated dishes to add to your party table from hors d’oeuvres to leftovers.

•The Hicksville Boys & Girls Club will hold its Holiday Craft Fair/Flea Market on Dec. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Levittown Hall. The event will provide everyone with the perfect opportunity to do last minute holiday shopping.
