Owl Prowl Season
These programs begin with a live owl presentation, allowing participants to learn about and get an up-close look at these otherwise secretive hunters of the night. Learn about the Eastern Screech and Great Horned Owls. After the presentation, venture outside to listen for the calls of the owls and attempt to attract these wild creatures closer. Brunch with Santa
Bazaar and Boutique takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Brunch only 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) at the Village Church, 9 Mountain Ave., Bayville. Lunch (11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Desserts and baked goods will be available to purchase. Brunch tickets: $5 advance; $6 at the door. The Boutique is free. Professional photos with Santa are an extra fee. Breakfast with Santa

St. Dominic’s Tree Lighting
St. Dominic will close the street on Anstice St. in the area of the school for a grand tree lighting. The tree will be white with blue lights. The tree lighting will take place after the 5 p.m. Mass.
Winter Wonders
Explore the ponds and woods of Bailey Arboretum in Lattingtown with Dan Kriesberg, inspiring naturalist and science teacher. Fun for the whole family. Discover tracks and traces of animal activity – winter is beautiful in the woods. 2 to 3 p.m. No charge. Donations appreciated. The Children’s Habitat is open every day, year-round. Tree Lighting and Open House
Share the joy of the holiday season at 5 p.m. at Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption’s (33 Warner Rd., Huntington) Tree Lighting and Open House. Enjoy refreshments, take a tour of the shelter and meet the wonderful dogs and cats who will be wishing for something extra special under the tree this year – a loving home to call their own. If you’re looking for a gift to give the animals at Little Shelter, this is the holiday wish list: canned/dry dog and cat food, collars, leashes, grooming supplies, door mats and throws rugs, office and cleaning supplies. LI Baroque Ensemble
Presents “A Joyful Noise.” Not to be missed, this popular annual event celebrates music of the season from divergent cultures and heritages performed by singers accompanied by an array of renaissance winds and strings. 3 p.m. on Dec. 13 at Christ Episcopal Church, Oyster Bay.
