Ricky Greene Memorial Softball Game Played at Cantiague Park

On Aug. 28 the Underdogs and Ricky’s G’s held the 2nd annual Ricky Greene Memorial Softball Game and Fundraiser on what would have been Ricky’s 25th birthday. This year they were raising money for a scholarship in Ricky’s name that is given to a Hicksville High School student who excels in theater. Friends, family and fans gathered around field D while trying their luck on over fifty raffles and scratch-off prizes. They enjoyed the music of DJ Jimmy Montana and were greeted by special guest Long Island Ducks mascot, Quackerjack. For the second year in a row the teams split the doubleheader with Ricky’s G’s taking the first game 20-18 and the Underdogs taking game two by a score of 26-7. Robert Greci (Underdogs) and Sean Greene (Ricky’s G’s) took home game MVP honors as voted on by the players. A special thank you to all that came out to help us fundraise over $3,800 for the scholarship.
