Physical Therapist/Star Runner Heather Williams Enthralls All

Spoke on Why Runners Get Injured…and Prevention

The featured speaker at the February 15 Open General Meeting of the Greater Long Island Running Club was Heather Williams, the co-owner (with husband Greg Fives) of Northport Physical Therapy, as well as one of Long Island’s premiere runners.  Her topic – one of interest to all runners: “Why Runners Get Injured…and how to Prevent it.”

An audience of over 100 enthusiastic runners was on hand for the Meeting, held in the Auditorium of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library.

Heather, an “alumnus” of New York City’s Hospital for Special Surgery, who moved to Long Island a little over a year ago, burned up the local roads in 2010, scoring as the first female finisher overall in the Little Cow Harbor 4 Mile Run, the Southampton 8K, the Long Island Marathon Festival of Races 10K, the Great Bonac 10K, the DIVA Half Marathon, and the Huntington Thanksgiving Day Run.
