Fishing and Sailing Opportunities Abound in Raffle Prizes
Friends of the Bay has some great raffle live auction items that are perfect for people who love being out on the water. Prime is a trip to watch for sharks out of Montauk, and even bird watch while out on the ocean. There is also an opportunity to do some sailing racing (or cruising) aboard a sailboat with Dawn Riley of Oak Cliff Yacht Club. If you like a quiet time there is a Sunset Cruise of our harbors aboard Andrew Curto’s beautiful 55’ power boat.
If you don’t feel like getting out on the water, there is also an opportunity to redo a powder room in your home, courtesy of The Mallis Group – you can always request a marine environment theme.
All the fun will be for friends and supporters of Friends of the Bay as they gather at the home of Stefanie and Frank Leone on the evening of May 6 to Launch the Season. The committee has been working hard to organize a fun-filled night.
They are offering treasure chests again, jam-packed with fabulous prizes. Each treasure chest has a value of $750 – $1000, and they are stuffed full of goodies for you, your children, your car and even your pooch! Some of the titles of our chests are Batter Up!, Essa Day of Beauty, Lazy Days of Summer, Pamper Your Pooch, Pimp Your Ride and Getaway Long Island. You’ll have to be there to see exactly what is in each one!
The East Woods Rhythm and Blues Band will keep the guests moving to some great tunes. Jackie “The Joke Man” Martling will do the live auction. Our committee and celebrity performers have all come out to help Friends of the Bay Launch the Season because they believe in the work we are doing, and want to help an organization that is doing work in our hometowns, protecting our beautiful harbor, the front yard of our communities, and the entire watershed area.
