Patrick Maloney recently won the West Side Tennis Championships for age group 12 under at the world famous West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills. Patrick is an 11-year-old nationally ranked player from Oyster Bay.
“He’s been playing for six years, ever since he was five,” said his father Michael Maloney. “He is one of the leading 11-year-olds in the tri-state area.” Patrick attends the Vernon School and is entering sixth grade.
The tournament is a USTA sanctioned tournament played on a clay court. Patrick won the finals with an impressive 6-0, 6-2 win finishing with an ace. Patrick will be competing this summer in the USTA Zonals in Pennsylvania (for 12 and unders) and several national tournaments throughout the country.
“Patrick wins a lot and competed in the international tournament in Bollettieri, Florida,” said his father. Patrick plays tennis year round.
Maria and Michael Maloney have three sons, Michael, Ryan and Patrick.
