Oyster Bay Town community park pools will officially open for the 2012 summer season on Saturday, June 23.
“For many people, summer in synonymous with spending time at the pool,” Town Councilman Anthony Macagnone said.
From June 23 through June 29, pools will be open from noon to 6 p.m.
From Saturday, June 30, through Sunday, Aug. 26, the pools will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. From Monday, Aug. 27, through Sunday, Sept. 2, pools will be open from noon to 8 p.m. On Labor Day the hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tappen pool will also open on June 23, Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to dusk, and Sundays, 11 a.m. to dusk. The only exception to these times will be to accommodate the North Shore swimming program.
Registration is currently under way at all community pools daily from noon to 6 p.m., and until 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Beginning July 2, registration will be held daily during operating hours. Registration at Tappen is being held daily, noon to 5 p.m. After July 4, registration at Tappen Pool will be conducted during regular pool hours.
Residents coming to register must bring proof of residency, such as a driver’s license, tax or utility bill that has their name and address, showing that they are a town resident.
