Congratulations to Maggie Reid and Jeri Cavagnaro, both residents of Locust Valley, who came home with awards from the 22nd annual edition of the David Lerner Associates Long Island Police Appreciation 5 Kilometer Run, which was held in Eisenhower Park on the evening of June 6.
Fifteen-year-old Maggie Reid took first place honors in the Women’s 15-19 age group with a time of 21 minutes, 27 seconds, edging out Chelsea Hroch of North Massapequa by one second. Jeri Cavagnaro, 66, earned the third place award in the women’s 65-69 age group with a time of 34:46.
The run was conducted by the Greater Long Island Running Club to benefit the Police Crisis Fund that provides financial support to Long Island law enforcement officers and their families in times of personal crisis.
According to the GLIRC, David Lerner Associates has provided generous support for this event over the years, and has made everything possible.
