A 33-year-old Rockville Centre woman was killed when he crashed his car on the Southern State Parkway in North Bay Shore early Monday morning.

New York State police said Johanna Taveras was driving her Hyundai Sonata westbound east of 5th Avenue when she drove off the roadway and struck a tree on the right shoulder at 4:22 a.m.

Taveras was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers ask any witnesses to call them at 631-756-3000.
