Grand Openings In Manhasset

BarrelGrapesManhassetManhasset has doors opening to new business all over town. These two brand new stores held grand opening events this weekend in grand fashion and style. Catering to the customer is the objective of these businesses, which sounds like a winning combination.

Adelina Boutique

Adelina Rapo has opened a new boutique specializing in accessories to adorn the discerning shopper. Located at 500 Plandome Road right next door to her beauty salon, Rapo wants to bring a European flair to Plandome Road and “a taste of Europe in Manhasset.” An avid traveler, Rapo scours Europe for that special accessory that is a must for the Manhasset shopper, acquiring an eclectic collection from France, Italy and Greece. The store hosts bags that are just right for a man or a woman.

Rapo, originally from Greece, now resides in Woodbury. She opened her doors in 2009 when she started Adelina Hair Design at 496 Plandome Rd. The salon works on the concept that every individual has a unique beauty. The staff create a look considering your unique features and needs and cut a shape that stays in the hair, making it quick and simple to recreate every day.

She decided she wanted to expand into the leather goods and accessories business when the store next door became available. “She is a lovely person.” says Dr. Mariann Schaefer. “She does a wonderful job with my daughter at the salon.” The merchandise is wide and diverse. Come in and see what perfect gift you can pick up for the holidays.
Adelina Boutique is open Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays.

Barrel Grapes

Barrel Grapes, a new wine and spirit store, had its official grand opening on Saturday at 1677 Northern Blvd. in Munsey Park. The store is in the Munsey Park shopping center right next door to LaCoquille. Councilwomen Anna Kaplan and Dina De Giorgio were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and to congratulate owner Samira Lund.

The Manhasset Press had previewed the business this past September before the outlet opened. Lund describes her connection with wine: “Its a feeling, it’s like love. You can’t ask somebody, ‘Can you describe love?’ Wine, cheese, chocolate, all these things have a hidden feeling.” she explained. “I love drinking wine, and when I sell wine to someone for an occasion, I know what it will mean for that person and that’s what’s fantastic about it.” Conveniently the shop is open right next door to Godiva store.

Lund’s wine flows from domestic vineyards on Long Island, California and Washington, as well as international vineyards in Italy, France, Portugal, South Africa and Spain—just to name a few. She also carries a wide variety of liquors produced by both popular companies and craft distillers.

Lund’s family owns a several wine and spirit stores on Long Island and all were present at the grand opening event.
Barrel Grapes is open seven days a week and offers free delivery.
