The color of the facade is not the only thing changing about 1400 Northern Blvd. The building’s exterior has been painted to a mustard color and is scheduled to open in the upcoming spring. Originally, it was reported the high end discounter Nordstrom’s Rack would be the only tenant in the building. but according to various reports from the Town of North Hempstead as well as the Greater Council of Manhasset Civic Associations, the lower level of the retail space will be occupied by DSW – Designer Shoe Warehouse.

As of May 18, 2013, DSW operates 377 stores in 42 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, as well as 348 leased departments for other retailers in the United States under the Affliated Business Group.
The retailers have filed a petition with the Town of North Hempstead regarding signage on the building which was rejected and now have to present to the Business and Zoning Board a variance.
