Korean War Veterans of Nassau County
The Korean War Veterans of Nassau County Chapter 1 monthly meeting is held at 8 p.m. at American Legion Post #1711 at 3123 N. Jerusalem Road in Levittown the third Monday of every month. Call 334-1025. You didn not have to have served in Korea to become a member.

Social Dancing at Kismet Hall
Every Friday afternoon from noon to 3 p.m. at Kismet Hall (located at 18 W. Nicholai Street) in Hicksville there are dance classes for those 45 and older. Kick up your heels and join the fun. Enjoy a ballroom dance lesson taught by professional instructors and then do some social dancing to a professional DJ on a large dance floor. The Broadway Mall will be holding a family fun day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come to Center Court to enjoy free entertainment such as crafts, pretzel making, face painting and more for kids.
Singles Club Meeting
The Singles Club of Long Island is having a luncheon at the Asian Buffet on Old Country Road in Hicksville. Starts at 11:30 a.m. You do not hae to be single and anybody is welcome to join the club. Blood Drive
Broadway Mall will be hosting a blood drive in parternship with Long Island Blood Services. Come to the IKEA Wing from 10:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. to donate blood and help save a life.

Historical Society Winter Social
The Hicksville Historical Society will be hosting their winter social at the Hicksville Gregory Museum from 1 to 4 p.m. Historian Marissa L. Berman will give a presentation on Nunley’s Amusement Park that was on Sunrise Highway in Baldwin. Berman, a Long Island native and Assistant Director of the Archives at Queensborough Community College, has a book on the park published by Arcadia Books. Sands Casino Trip
The Catholic Daughters of the America’s #869 will be hosting a bus trip to the Sands Casino in Pennsylvania. The cost is $42 per person. Give back is $30 slot pay and $5 food voucher. The bus leaves at 9 a.m. sharp, please arrive at Cantiague Park, near the miniature golf course at 8:30 a.m. We will be returning at approximately 8:30 p.m. For reservations, call Barbara at 516-935-5576. The first to pay is the first on the bus. All profit will benefit our charities and scholarship fund.

Dare To Wear Red
The Joseph Barry Columbiettes will be hosting a Dare To Wear Red-Women’s Heart Health Dinner and Dance. Featuring singer and entertainer Joe Salemi. Speakers include Legislator Rose Walker and other health care professionals. Cost is $27 per person, which includes dinner, dessert, soda, coffee and tea. There will be a cash bar. Defensive Driving Class
Our Lady of Hope R.C. Church will be hosting a defensive driving course. This class will help students become safer drivers, and they can also receive a 10 percent insurance reduction from their liability and collision premium and up to four points will be deducated from their driving record.
