SAT Comprehensive Course

Dan Nichols and Eighteen In Concert
Temple B’nai Torah, 2900 Jerusalem Ave. in Wantagh, presents, in one of their only New York appearances, Dan Nichols and Eighteen in concert Saturday Feb. 1, 2014 at 7 p.m. The musicians will bring their wide range of sounds and styles of their energetic Jewish rock music. The Liverpool Shuffle
In February of 1964, The Beatles arrived in the U.S. for the first time. Authors Brunch Series
Join author David Kaufman at the Mid-Island Y JCC, 45, Manetto Hill Rd., as he discusses his book on famous Jews: Sandyu Koufax, Lenny Bruce, Bob Dylan and Barbra Streisand, all who first came to public attention in the early 1960s, a period Kaufman identifies in his book Jewhooing The Sixties as historically ripe for American Jews to reexamine their Jewish identities. Town Of Oyster Bay Public Meeting
In its final scheduled meeting of 2013, the Oyster Bay Town Board set a date for a public hearing involving a major Plainview development. The board agreed 7-0 to hold a hearing on Feb. 4 on the application of Plainview Properties and Beechwood for the zoning change. That plan would allow the developers to build a large new housing development on the southwest corner of Old Country Road and Round Swamp Road in Plainview. The area has been known as the “Wang Property,” owned by Islanders’ owner Charles Wang. It was once the home to the Nassau County Sanitarium. The public hearing, as well as the board meeting, will be held at Mattlin Middle School at 7 p.m. Feb. 4.

Networking Mixer And Speed Networking
Carlyle At The Palace, 1600 Round Swamp Rd. in Plainview, hosts a can’t-miss networking event for professionals from 5:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m. At a cost of $20, attendees can join a speed networking event at 5:30 p.m. where they will meet other business professionals for approximately five minutes per round. After each round, one party stays and the other party will rotate. Then, at 6:30 p.m., the general networking mixer commences. Plainview-Bethpage Lions Club Meeting
Serving the Plainview-Old Bethpage and Bethpage communities since 1957, the Lions Club holds dinner meetings on the second Wednesday of every month except July and August. The Lions Club strives to make a difference in local communities and encourages residents to come in and voice their concerns.
