Syosset’s Christiano’s on Ira Road has closed its doors after 56 years.
The closing of the restaurant, which Billy Joel said was and inspiration for his “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant,” didn’t come as a surprise since Singh Hospitality group had purchased the restaurant last year and had been public about plans to eventually close and redesign the eatery.
Chef Tom Schaudel of Syosset’s CoolFish will be a part of the new venture.
