Snow Day In Oyster Bay
The Oyster Bay Historical Society has a new exhibit at the Koenig Center, 20 Summit St., Snow Day In Oyster Bay. It includes the sign from The Oyster Bay Ski Center managed in the mid-fifties by Oscar Summers, from their collection as well as costumes on loan from Monica Randall. North Shore Reads

Professor Doug Robinson, an evolutionary biologist, is speaking about a much maligned, yet loved bird, the American Crow which has a complex social life and amazing intelligence. At the OB-EN Library. Dr. Ryan Stone is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky. On a seemingly routine spacewalk, the shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left, and the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space. TR’s Shocking Dinner
The Friends of Sagamore Hill presents Deborah Davis discussing her book Guest of Honor: Booker T. Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, and the White House Dinner that Shocked a Nation, on March 13 at 7 p.m. in Christ Church Parish Hall, 61 East Main St. The dinner ignited a racial storm, divided the country, and threatened to topple two of America’s greatest men. Copies available for signing. Davis has written other works of social history including on John Singer Sargent; Truman Capote; and about the resort, Newport Rhode Island. The Long Island Baroque Ensemble will perform on March 16 at Christ Church at 3 p.m. It has been delighting audiences with its diverse programming featuring a repertoire of rarely heard and unpublished works along with period favorites. The Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District holds its third budget development workshop on Tuesday, March 18, at 8 p.m. Attending the school board meetings are a great way of enhancing your child’s school experience as you become more aware of the district goals and how they are achieving them. Food Pantry
The North Shore Assembly of God, 84 Orchard St, Oyster Bay is operating a new food pantry for the community. It is meant to supplement the growing needs of the community.
