Factory Eyeglass Closing

eyeoutletAfter nearly 20 years as a mainstay on Main Street, Factory Eyeglass Outlet is closing.

“The expense of taxes, rent, lack of parking and the reduction of traffic, created by the closing of so many other retail businesses, have made our economic viability in this town impossible,” said Chief Operating Officer Alan Sandman.

The store, at 23 Main Street, was known for fashionable eye wear at discounted price. Over the last two years it served more than 8,000 customers who bought more than 10,400 pairs of eyeglasses, Sandman said.

But it wasn’t enough business to keep Factory Eyeglass Outlet open.
