Hundreds of people turned out for the Town of North Hempstead’s fifth annual Asian-American Festival at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port.
The event, which celebrates the growing cultural landscape of the town, featured dozens of local vendors showcasing clothing, accessories, food, and arts and crafts unique to Asia.
“The Asian-American Festival is such a magnificent display of the ethnic diversity in the Town of North Hempstead,” Supervisor Judi Bosworth said. “The sights and sounds of the festival magically transported visitors to China, India, Japan, Korea and Pakistan.”
Featured performances and activities included Chinese lion dancers, a henna tattoo artist, Korean tae kwon do, and archery.
