The Teaching Studios of Art of Oyster Bay is again hosting its Plein Air Competition back at Sagamore Hill this year on Sept. 27. The next day the paintings will be on exhibit at the Oyster Bay Historical Society’s Koenig Center from 7 to 9 p.m. For information call 516-558-7367.

39th Annual Oktoberfest
The World Famous Locust Valley Rotary Oktoberfest promises to be fun for the whole family. From 1 to 8 p.m. at Thomas Park in Locust Valley. Music begins at 1 p.m. with old time favorite German band The Spitzbaum, plus plenty of kids activities, German dancers, and of course German beer and food. Cruise Nights
Cruise Nights is held weekly Tuesdays on Audrey Avenue and continues through the year until Sept. 30. The fee is $5 per vehicle and visitors are free. Live music is performed by celebrity musicians, with auctions and raffles to benefit project of the Historic OB-EN Chamber of Commerce. Call 922-6464. Cruise Nights is a weather dependent event.

This 2014 Sundance Audience Award-winning documentary demonstrates the powerful effect of music on body and mind.
