Michael Caswell Adams, 81, of Jupiter, Fla, passed away Sunday, Oct. 5. He was born in Manhattan, N.Y., on April 23, 1933, and attended Portsmouth Abbey School and Cornell University.
His wife of 50 years, Mary Lioba, predeceased him in 2009. Mike spent a long career in liquor sales. He gave freely of his time to his family, friends, and community, including many years in civic service. On Long Island, he was Commodore of Port Washington Yacht Club and served as Commissioner of the Manhasset Park District.
In 2004, he moved to Florida, where he served as President of Tequesta Country Club, volunteered at the Jupiter Medical Center, and was President of the Jupiter Harbor property owners association.
Mike is survived by his three children: Michelle McGann (Stephen), of Manhasset, Christopher (Marian) of Garden City, and Gregory (Julie) of London, UK. He was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren: Ryan McGann, Brendan McGann, Madeline Adams, Brigid McGann, Brendan Adams, Caroline Adams, Lucy Adams, and Amelia Adams. He is also survived by his significant other, Lynn Jackson.
The viewing will be held at Aycock Funeral Home in Jupiter from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 8. His funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Tequesta.
