On Sunday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m., Roslyn native Jourdan Urbach will be performing in the St. Patrick’s on the Hill Beacon Music Series at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, 235 Glen St., Glen Cove.

On that date, the music series is celebrating its eighth season. Soprano Erika Dyer and Glen Cove pianist Dr. Karen M. Beluso will join Urbach.
Urbach, a Juilliard violinist, social entrepreneur, Yale graduate and Jefferson Award winner, performs and composes in his original musical style that fuses classical, jazz, blues and contemporary genres.

Critics call him “a young Paganini with laser sharp technique.” Urbach is the only young, classical music star to devoted himself to touring the country for the express purpose of performing Concerts for a Cure, raising over $5 million to date to fight pediatric & neurological disease.

By 2003, as a nationally known concert violinist, Urbach enlisted entire symphony orchestras to join his sold-out benefit performances, creating a dozen Gala Evenings at Lincoln Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall with such hosts as Meredith Vieira and Charles Osgood as well as at hundreds of other renowned concert halls throughout the nation.

Urbach has been commissioned to score an upcoming nationally broadcast PBS Documentary entitled: When I Walk.

The cost for the event is adults: $20 and children: $10. For tickets call the parish office at 516-676-0276. St. Patrick’s is at 235 Glen St., Glen Cove.
