A burglar punched and tried to sexually assault a 19-year-old woman in her Uniondale home over the weekend, Nassau County police said.
The victim was in the bedroom of her Newport Road when the assailant walked in, “made a sexual advance toward her” and then punched her in the face shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday, police said.
The victim suffered a small laceration to her lip. The attacker stole a cell phone and cash before he ran away southbound on Newport Road toward Front Street.
The suspect is described as a 6-foot tall, 200-pound black man with a possible Caribbean accent between 40 and 50 years old who was wearing dark clothing and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
