The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour at 132 Jefferson Ave. in Mineola will continue its Concert Series on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. with a performance by the Jackson Heights Community Orchestra, directed by Pat Glunt. As a retired New York City music educator, Glunt continues to work with students and their teachers throughout New York State. She has collaborated with the education departments of The New York Philharmonic, The American Ballet Theatre and The New York Pops.
A professional violinist, Glunt earned a master’s of science in education, as well as a professional diploma in administration and supervision from Queens College. She has conducted ensembles in California, New York and Finland and is past president of the Music Educators Association of New York City.
Glunt has lived in Jackson Heights for more than 20 years. There will be light refreshments and time to meet and talk with the performers after the concert. The church is located on the corner of Willis and Jefferson avenues, two blocks south of Jericho Turnpike in Mineola.
