Old Westbury Man Arrested

The Third Squad reports the arrest of an Old Brookville man for Assault that occurred on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 10:45 p.m. in Manhasset.
According to detectives, Third Precinct officers responded to Green’s Pub located at 436 Plandome Rd. for a disturbance.
Upon police arrival, the defendant Frank Filippelli, 31, of 66 Chicken Valley Rd. ran from the scene on foot. Fillippeli was then observed a few minutes later screaming as he ran across the street.
The officers followed Filippelli into an alleyway where they attempted speak to him.
Filippelli again began to run away and slammed an officer into his patrol car. The officers continued to struggle with Filippelli at which time he began to punch an officer in the face and attempted to bite them.
The officers were able to get control of the defendant and place him under arrest.
One officer was treated at a local hospital for injuries to his face and knee he sustained during the struggle.
Filippelli was charged with Assault Second Degree and Obstructing Governmental Administration.
He was arraigned on Monday, Dec. 8 at First District Court in Hempstead.
