Computer Kindergarten for Grown-Ups

This is a slow-paced, user-friendly workshop for first-time computer users. Using Windows computers, this unique class covers the basics in a way that even the most inexperienced user will understand. Covered in the class: turning the computer on, the desktop, using the mouse, opening and closing programs, understanding Windows elements, and turning the computer off. There will be a small fee of $4 per patron, due at sign-up. At the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Library, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Movie At The Library

See The Hundred-Foot Journey at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Library. Hassan is a culinary ingénue with the gastronomic equivalent of perfect pitch. Displaced from their native India, his family settles in a quaint village in the south of France. They plan to open an Indian restaurant until Madame Mallory, the owner of a classical French restaurant, gets wind of it. Her icy protests against the new Indian restaurant escalate to all out war; until Hassan’s cooking talent and love for Mme. Mallory’s assistant, cannot be ignored. Plein Art Exhibit

The Teaching Studios of Art of Oyster Bay’s Plein Air Competition of paintings created at Sagamore Hill are on view currently and for sale at the Oyster Bay Historical Society’s Koenig Center. For more information and hours call 516-922-5032.

Food Pantry

The North Shore Assembly of God, 84 Orchard St., Oyster Bay is operating a food pantry for the community meant to supplement the community’s growing needs. It is open on Tuesdays from noon to 1 p.m. If you are in need of service, call Pastor Diane at 516-922-2547 to make an appointment to complete the screening process.
