The Seventh Squad reported the details of an assault that occurred on Friday, Feb. 6 at 8:50 p.m. in East Meadow.
According to detectives, the defendant Kimberly Trinidad, 28, had been placed under arrest earlier in the day for petit larceny at Walmart in Massapequa. While being transported to detention, Trinidad began to feel ill. A Nassau County Ambulance responded to the transporting officer’s location on Hempstead Turnpike, where the defendant was transferred to the ambulance for transport. While inside the ambulance Trinidad became combative and kicked the male Advanced Medical Technician in the face. The assisting officers were able to secure the defendant and transport her to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment of an unknown medical condition. The AMT was also treated for minor injury to his face.
Trinidad was charged with assault in the second degree and petit larceny. She was arraigned on Saturday, Feb. 7, at First District Court in Hempstead.
