The Major Case Bureau is investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Monday, Feb. 23 at 11:15 a.m. in Westbury.
According to Robbery Squad detectives, an unknown subject entered the Bethpage Federal Credit Union located at 750 Old Country Road and presented a demand note to a teller. After obtaining an undetermined amount of US currency the subject fled on foot northbound towards Barrington Street. The subject is described as a male black in his twenties, 6’ – 6’2” tall, unshaven, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black knit cap, black pants and sunglasses. There were seven employees and three customers inside the bank at the time of the crime. There were no reported injuries.
