The Floral Park Lions Club has announced its community service award which will be presented to a graduating sixth grader at the Floral Park-Bellerose (FPB) and John Lewis Childs (JLC) schools, and a graduating eighth grader at the Our Lady of Victory (OLV) School.
The Floral Park Lions Club Community Service Award will be presented to one graduate of each school who has demonstrated significant, meaningful community and voluntary service during his/her graduation year (6th grade for FPB and JLC students, 8th grade for OLV students).
Students who wish to apply for the Floral Park Lions Club Community Service Award are invited to write an essay, describing the voluntary community service that they have undertaken since summer 2014. Details about the support provided and the impact of the service should be included. Essays must be mailed to: Floral Park Lions Club Scholarship Committee, 260 Floral Pkwy., Floral Park, NY 11001, Attn: Dr. Pombonyo, and must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, April 28.
Community Service Award announcements are also available in the FPB, JLC and OLV offices. The award recipients will be honored at the awards ceremonies at the respective schools.
