The busy section of Shelter Rock Road at the intersection of the Long Island Expressway service Roads is being repaved this morning, Monday, March23. Crews are on-hand working on the surface of the road that has deteriorated the asphalt making travel hazardous to passenger vehicles.
Shelter Rock Road has not been closed during the construction, but has closed lanes so that one lane is open in each direction during the maintenance of the roadway. Traffic back-ups are being caused on both sides. Traffic feeding into the area comes from Manhasset and Roslyn as well as the North and South Service Roads of the Long Island Expressway and the Northern State Parkway. Be prepared for delays.
