Matthew Ramos is a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop 45 in Mineola. He is currently working on earning the rank of Eagle Scout and chose to revitalize the snackstand and storage room at the Mineola Athletic Association baseball fields. The work will include building and repairing shelving units in the stand and the equipment room, cleaning the stand out, refinishing the floor, repairing/replacing some cooking equipment and building recycle pail boxes.
“I need to raise funds to pay for the supplies and materials as well as food for those who come to help me with the work,” Ramos said.
There are two ways you can help raise the money Ramos needs first, a monetary donation of any amount you feel comfortable with either by cash or check payable to Matthew Ramos, or by visit his Gofundme site by clicking here.
Ramos will also be holding a clothing drive fundraiser on April 25 from 9 a.m. to noon at the MAA fields. Items that will be accepted are clothes (any size/ gender), shoes, purses, linens, stuffed animals, toys, baby items. Any donation you can make would be greatly appreciated and will directly benefit Ramos’ project and the MAA.
“Should I raise more money than needed, the extra will be given directly to the MAA to help stock the snack stand with items to sell,” Ramos said.
