Three beheaded kittens were found in Ronkonkoma this week and investigators are now asking for the public’s help in the search for those responsible for the animal cruelty, authorities said.
A woman who cares for feral cat colonies made the disturbing discovery April 29 on 5th Avenue, according to the the Suffolk County SPCA, which is investigating the case. The kittens, which were estimated to be about 5 days old, were lined up next to each other, authorities said.
“How anyone could do this to these kittens is beyond reason,” said Roy Gross, chief of the Suffolk County SPCA, who called the crime “a vicious, heinous act.”
Suffolk County SPCA investigators ask anyone with information on this case to call them at 631-382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential.
