Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board remind families that a visit to Clark Botanic Garden in Albertson makes for a wonderful family outing on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10. In addition, this weekend, Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. there is a plant sale at the Garden, featuring annuals, perennials, herbs, shrubs, hanging baskets and vegetables for purchase. The plant sale is run by and raises money for Fanny Dwight Clark Memorial Garden, Inc.
“Clark Botanic Garden is at its height of springtime beauty, with tulips, daffodils and other spring blossoms bursting with color,” said Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “This weekend is a great time to visit the Garden for the plant sale or pack a picnic for Mom on Mother’s Day and enjoy spending time in nature with the entire family.”
Founded in 1969, Clark Botanic Garden is a 12-acre living museum and educational facility, dedicated to understanding and appreciating the world’s plant life through horticulture, education and research.
Collections at the garden include native spring wildflowers, conifers, roses, perennials, daylilies, wetland plants, rock garden plants, herbs, butterfly plants, medicinal plants and over a dozen collections of particular plant families.
