There is a new restaurant on Main Street, a burger joint called Bareburger where you can have a burger with elk instead of beef and noone will look twice at you. It opened on Wednesday, May 27, and since then business has been booming. You can order bison, elk, wild boar, duck and the normal beef burger. But they’re not just meat. They have a selection of vegetarian burgers to choose from as well.
Ironically, it’s not called Bareburger because they have bare patty burgers, which wouldn’t be that wild considering their creative menu. It’s called Bareburger since the meats are nothing but the meats. Dennis Manalatos, coowner andmanager of Bareburger, called their food, “sustainable, organic, all-natural different meats. All our vendors are local.”
At Bareburger, you have the ability to build your own burger with many selections and meats to mix and match. They’ve got shakes, deserts, salads and some of the best side pickles.
The establishment itself has a huge glass garage door that swings open during the warm, sunny days. They’ve employed high school and college kids for the summer. Manalatos is also an owner of the Bareburger restaurant in Great Neck.
Bareburger is open Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The address is 42 Main Street. Since they’ve just opened, they don’t have delivery hours, but those are soon to come.
