NCPD has reported a robbery that occurred on June 28 at 7:26 p.m. that began in Valley Stream and resulted with a car plowing into a Floral Park backyard. According to detectives, a male victim, 33, while sitting in the driver’s seat of his white 2014 Chevy Equinox and parked in Valley Stream, was approached by an unknown male suspect as he entered the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The men started to argue and both exited the vehicle. The suspect pointed a knife at the victim, re-entered the victim’s vehicle and drove away.
Within minutes, the victim’s vehicle was involved in an accident at 200 Floral Pkwy. in Floral Park. The vehicle traveled northbound on Roquette Avenue in South Floral Park and crashed through a fence in the rear yard of the Floral Park home.
Police searched for the suspect, described as a black male, 40-45 years old, 5’11”, 200 pounds, dreadlocks, wearing a blue jacket and black hat. Floral Park Police said that a search of Centennial Gardens and the surrounding area was conducted with the assistance from NCPD, including K-9 and aviation units, with negative results.
