Two Westbury teens were arrested in connection with a robbery Thursday, July 23 at 2:25 a.m. in Westbury.
According to Robbery Squad detectives, a local taxi was dispatched to Cedar Road for pickup. Upon arrival the driver observed four suspects sitting on the curb. Two of the suspects entered the car, one of them reaching around the driver and grabbing him by the neck in a chokehold. The other two, standing nearby, approached the taxi. One of them displayed a handgun, demanding money from the victim. The victim advised the suspects he did not have any money. One of the suspects from outside the car reached in and removed the keys from the vehicle. All of the suspects fled on foot.
Three of them were located a short time later, walking west on Prospect Avenue, and placed under arrest without incident. A black revolver was recovered. The suspects were identified as Westbury’s Quraan Williams, 18, and Marlik Petti-Frere, 16, and Christopher Clausell, 18, of Hempstead. The fourth suspect was not apprehended.
The men are charged with first-degree robbery and second degree robbery. Additionally Williams is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and a violation of a probation warrant and Petit-Frere is charged with first degree criminal uses of a firearm, second degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth degree possession of stolen property.
