Vladimir and Yelana Polezhayev, the Long Island Piano Duo who have performed at venues all over Long Island, including at Landmark on Main Street and the Port Washington Public Library, led fifteen young musicians from ages 6 to 16 and their parents on an international summer tour of Portugal in July. Vladimir is also the accompanist for the choir of the Community Synagogue.
Concert Festival International Summer Tour “Portugal 2015” included 13 Americans, one Canadian and one student from Finland. During the seven days of the Tour, the group participated in various events, combining artistic, educational and informative programs, including Gala Concert at Fatima Conservatory, master classes with world renowned musicians, and trips and excursions around the country.
The 4th of July became really memorable. The young artists were featured as soloists with the “Orquestra Classica Do Centro” under the button of Maestro David Lloyd at the Royal Hall of the Coimbra University. The concert was attended by the State representatives and educational elite of Portugal, who awarded American young musicians with a standing ovation.
