Join the group in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Library’s green room, where children can build whatever they can imagine. All Lego creations will remain in the library. Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration. 10 a.m. to noon.
Superhero Crafts
Kids ages 2 to 12 can stop by the Bayville Free Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to make a cool superhero craft. No registration necessary.
Music Under The Stars
See Darla, Steady Hands, and W.C. Lindsay (folk rock/bar punk, dance punk/indie pop) perform at the Incorporated Village of Bayville’s Music Under the Stars, an annual free summer concert series at West Harbor Memorial Beach in Bayville. The concerts are Friday evenings from 8 to 10 p.m. (weather permitting) and are free to the general public. In case of inclement weather, cancellations will be posted on the village’s website, www.bayvilleny.gov.
Midsummer Nights Dream Cruise
Spend Friday nights at Ransom Beach, 11 Bayville Ave. in Bayville, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Spectators are free, or the cost is $5 to show a car. Saturday Storytime Craft
For kids ages 3 to 5, with adult, at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Library, 10 a.m. Listen to the book Fran’s Flower, then design and paint a tea cup for a pretty flower and snack on delicious cookies. Registration began on July 25 for OB-EN residents and starts on Aug. 14 for non-residents, space permitting.
Evan Gottfried’s Family Music Extravaganza
At the Bayville Free Library, 11 a.m., it’s an interactive musical celebration of the conclusion of the library’s Summer Reading Program. Evan Gottfried will delight the children with rainbows, bubbles and lots of fun. Registration online required.
North Shore Pops Concert
The North Shore Pops Concert Band will perform at Planting Fields Arboretum at 6 p.m. The concert is free. Under the direction of Eric Albinder, the 50-piece band will present an eclectic selection of crowd pleasing music. The British Invasion
On Sunday, Aug. 16, Morgan Park Summer Music Festival presents The British Invasion, a tribute to the great British and American bands of the ’60s. The concert, which is free to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. in Morgan Park on Germaine Street at the end of Landing Road in Glen Cove. Flowers for the Early Fall Garden
Paul Levine will show flowers for the fall garden such as mums, asters, fall sedum and Montauk daisy at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Library, 7 p.m. You will also see flowering indoor plants like kalanchoe, bromeliad and indoor chrysanthemum.
