A 51-year-old Bethpage woman died after a truck making an illegal u-turn on the Wantagh State Parkway hit the SUV she was driving over the weekend, New York State police said.

Elisabeth Cutrone was driving a Jeep Cherokee northbound when her vehicle was hit by a Ford F-250 pick-up truck that was making a u-turn from the southbound side of the roadway just north of the Jones Beach State Park toll booths shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Cutrone was airlifted to Nassau University Medical Center, where she died shortly later. Her, 42-year-old passenger, Douglas Cutrone, also of Bethpage, was taken to the same hospital for treatment of a fractured hip.

The other driver, 35-year-old Eugenio Taveras-Galindo of Westbury, and his four passengers were hospitalized with minor injuries.

Troopers are continuing the investigation into this crash and ask any witnesses to call them at 516-561-8492.
