In what made for a sunny and celebratory day, hundreds turned out for Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center’s 30th Annual Golf and Tennis Outing on Monday, July 27, at Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury.
This year’s event, which raised funds for the organization’s social services, highlighted the JCC’s Vocational Training and Employment Center (VTEC) program. VTEC provides young adults with autism and other special needs the opportunity to prepare for future employment through career assessments, workshops, internships, job placements and job support.

Participants enjoyed a fun-filled day that included golf, men’s and women’s tennis, indoor games complete with bridge, canasta and mah jongg, as well as a cocktail hour and dinner. The event included speeches by the Golf and Tennis Outing honorees Staci Leavitt Davidson and Paul Davidson, who remain steadfast in their commitment to supporting the JCC and its special needs programs.
“VTEC has not only afforded interns work experiences, but has provided them with an important sense of connection and purpose in our world,” said Paul Davidson. “Through our continued support of the JCC, we keep open a door for myriad opportunities for those throughout our community.”
