Sewanhaka Central High School District officials were joined by board of education members and the Floral Park Memorial High School community at a ribbon-cutting ceremony that celebrated the school’s new athletic field.
On Saturday, Sept. 19, the community gathered to commemorate the completion of the field renovation at Floral Park Memorial High School.
The stadium field, track and softball fields were renovated at Floral Park Memorial.
In addition, the district celebrated the field renovations at Elmont Memorial, H. Frank Carey, New Hyde Park Memorial and Sewanhaka high schools. The field work was made possible thank to the passage of the district’s May 2014 bond referendum.
Following the ribbon-cutting, the Floral Park Knights varsity football team took on the Glen Cove Big Red in a 2 p.m. game. Big Red won the conference game, 41-14.
