At the quarterfinals of the American Collegiate Invitational at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing last month, Julia Elbaba of Oyster Bay a senior at the University of Virginia, was defeated by Julia Jones, a graduate of Ole Miss from St. Petersburg, FL, with results of, 7-5 and 6-3.
“I started the match really strong yesterday,” said Elbaba. “She came up with some good serves, so, slowly she built some momentum and she started to figure out what I was doing. I wish I had made more adjustments.”
