The Baxter’s Pond Foundation is hosting its annual Fall bulb planting and cleanup at Baxter’s Pond on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to noon. Residents are invited to plant bulbs throughout the park and clean up for winter. The foundation will supply trash bags and refreshments and they ask that participants bring gloves and shovels or trowels. Meet by the bridge at Hillside Avenue and Central Drive. The event will be held rain or shine.
The Baxter’s Pond Foundation was recently recognized by the Chamber of Commerce at their installation dinner. They received recognition from Town of North Hempstead Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton, Councilwoman Dina De Giorgio, Receiver of Taxes Charles Berman and New York State Assemblywoman Michelle Schimmel.
