Blooming Lash, a new eyelash extension and semi-permanent makeup business, had their grand opening in Port Washington on Sept. 25. Located in the same building as Commisso & Company salon on Main Street, owner Nancy Nam is passionate about her new business.
“We currently have one employee for now,” said Nam, “as we get busier we will get more employees.”
Nam, who went to school and has a license for eyelash extensions and semi-permanent makeup, said Blooming Lash caters to a variety of clients, including men, women, brides, bridal parties and anyone who wants to look nice for a special occasion or everyday.
Eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken natural eyelashes. They are made of synthetic fibers and curve to replicate natural lashes for a full lush look. Extensions can last anywhere from three to eight weeks, depending on the individual. Nam recommends an infill every two to three weeks. The initial application process can last anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours and touch-ups average about 45 minutes. “They are safe and it doesn’t hurt at all,” Nam said.
Semi-permanent makeup is a form of micro-pigmentation that is placed in the outer epidermal layer of the skin and designed to fade away after a year to 18 months. A semi-permanent makeup treatment can save clients time. Instead of applying eyeshadow, brow powder and lip gloss everyday, cosmetic tattoos allow one to look made-up all day long.
Blooming Lash is located at 30 Main St. It is open by appointment only Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
