After a brief closure for renovations, Salon 311 has re-opened on the turnpike and has never been so successful.
Owner Jaime Scott told the Floral Park Dispatch that the store has been open since May on the turnpike, across the street from St. Hedig’s Roman Catholic Church. Scott is a graduate of the Sewanhaka Central High School District, Floral Park Memorial and Sewanhaka, with more than 10 years of cosmetology experience. She attended Sewanhaka’s cosmetology program, a BOCES program offered at Sewanhaka High School.
“I just like the location of Salon 311, being so close to the village,” said Scott. “It’s a small-town salon, where every body knows each other.”
Scott has a staff of five, specializing in makeup and haircuts, but especially with hair color.
“We do lots of cuts and color,” said Scott.
She said when she opened the salon, she had a following of approximately 500 clients from another local salon, but that number has almost doubled in less than six months.
“The best thing about being on Jericho Turnpike is that we are easy to get to and highly visible,” said Scott. She said although they rely on street parking for the clients, it has not been a problem.
Salon 311 is located at 311 Jericho Tpke. in Floral Park. Salon 311 is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Visit www.facebook.com/salon311fp or call 516-216-5335 for appointments, hours and information.
